What kind of images will I find at Glow Images?

Do I need to register to search for images?
No. However, once you register you will be able to save images in a lightbox, and download low-resolution un-watermarked comps to assist you creating your design and layout. Registration is always free and there is no obligation to purchase. And as our way of saying “thanks”, Glow Images will give you up to 50 FREE blog-res images for web use when you register today.
Do I need to have a subscription to download single images from Glow Images?
No. You may license and download single images from any of our collections whether subscription, royalty free, or rights managed. Designers and Editors who use images regularly find great value in our subscription plans. We invite you to find one that’s right for you and we think you’ll agree: subscriptions provide a terrific value allowing you to download hundreds of images each month for one low fixed monthly fee.
What image sizes are available?

At the time of your purchase you can select the exact file size you want to download. If you find for any reason the file you’ve downloaded is not acceptable, contact us within 7 days of your purchase and we’ll either replace the image with the right file for your project or allow you to return the image for a full refund.
Can I sell my images through Glow Images website?
Yes. In addition to producing our own images, Glow Images sells images from thousands of photographers through our wide range partner collections. As you can imagine our criteria for selecting images that we represent is quite stringent, but if you feel you’ve got the goods, then check out our submission guidelines. Please do not send any prints, transparencies or portfolios to Glow Images as they will not be returned.
Can I search by Keyword? Image number? Category? Disc name?
Yes. For keyword search, simply enter any terms that best describe the image you are looking for and our search engine will retrieve images that best fit your description. Click on any thumbnail to see a complete list of all the keywords for that image. Click on any of the keyword terms to see more images that include the keyword you selected. To search by image number just insert the number in the search box and the image will be retrieved. If you want to browse our collections by category visit our Subscription collection or scan our list of over 500 Virtual CD titles. Click on the category or the CD title to see all the related images.
Lightbox is an easy way to collect images you are considering for a project or share the images with others. Click on any image and you will be taken to the detail view for the image. The right of the image click on “add to lightbox.” (Note: You need to login in to use the lightbox function; if you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to do so.) To view the lightbox, click on the link “My lightbox” on the upper right of the website.
How do I add/remove images to/from a Lightbox?
Click on “My Lightbox” in the upper right of the website and select the radio button next to the lightbox you want to view. The images saved in the lightbox appear. Simply click in the check box under each image you wish to delete from the lightbox, and click the “Delete selection” button to the left. To move images to another lightbox, select the check box and using the drop down list under “Move to lightbox” select the lightbox you want to move the image to. To view the image simply select the lightbox you moved the image to listed under “My lightboxes”.
Using the buttons on the left of each you can email the selected lightbox to friend or colleague. If you want to print the images in light box, you can generate a PDF of all the images in the light by clicking “Generate PDF”. Please be patient, the length of time required to create the PDF will depend on the number of images in your lightbox. For example: a lightbox with ten images could take up to 60 seconds.

How may I use the images I license?
Images selected from our Subscription Collection and our Royalty Free collections give you the greatest flexibility in how you may use the images you license and download. While every license is governed by the terms and conditions of an End User License Agreement (EULA), to make it simple, here is a quick snapshot:

What is a Merchandise Upgrade license?
When you are using an image as the basis or main component of a resale product (resale product = goods which are not given free of charge but are offered for sale, including, but not limited to, calendars, posters, postcards, canvas prints, cups, toys, stuffed animals, sporting articles, household, bathroom and kitchen goods, clothing articles, coffee-table books and similar articles. Can I use images from my Glow Subscription after my subscription expires?
Yes, but you must continue to follow the terms of the End User License Agreement.
Can I use the images from my subscription for a client or employer?
As a rule, the license is non-transferable. However, the right to use the content may be transferred only to one single third party if the transfer is made within the scope of implementation of a customer project, for example by an advertising agency. Repeated use in projects of different customers is not permitted. In such a case, another license must be acquired for each customer.
Can I purchase Single Images from the Glow Subscription Collection?
Yes. You may license and download single images from any of our collections whether subscription, royalty free, or rights managed.
What is Royalty-Free stock photography?
Royalty-free means that you don’t have to pay additional royalties to photographers when you use images that you’ve purchased from Glow Images. In other words, it means you pay once and use forever.
Is it possible to re-use or share my royalty-free image?
While you can certainly re-use a royalty free image for multiple projects, you are granted a single user license meaning only you (or you as a representative of the company that licensed the image) can use the image. You cannot share the image with other designers, colleagues or friends. You cannot store the image on shared server, network or intranet that multiple colleagues will have access to the image and use in other projects. What is Rights-Managed Stock photography?
Rights-Managed (RM) images are licensed for a single project for a specific time frame distributed within certain territories. Because we capture specific usage information at the time of each license, we can tell you if the image you are interested in is currently being used by other clients for similar projects. While Rights Managed images are not licensed exclusively, there is a lower probability that your intended use of the image will conflict with a license previously granted to another Glow Images client. Also, rather than being priced relative to the available file sizes, rights managed are priced according to your intended use. Therefore, the more narrow your intended use, the lower fee you will pay; for broader uses you can expect to pay more. How much does Rights-Managed stock photography cost?
Unlike royalty-free images that are priced relative to the available file sizes, Rights- Managed images are priced according to your intended use. Therefore, the more narrow your intended use, the lower fee you will pay; for broader uses you can expect to pay more. Can I purchase a Glow Images Virtual CDs without purchasing a subscription?
Yes. VCD purchases can be made independent of our Subscription Plan. We also offer single images in our Subscription, Royalty Free and Rights Managed Collections.
